Two Rivers Coalition (TRC) is hosting a series of paddles this summer to celebrate the opening of the Paw Paw River Water Trail. The Lawrence Community Paddle will be on Saturday July 28. We will paddle from Lawrence River Park 3 miles downstream to 54th Street bridge. It takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours to float this Beginner level segment which had a paddle pathway cut through logjams last week.
Participants will meet at Lawrence River Park on CR 215/673 no later than 9:30 a.m. to unload boats. We will then stage some vehicles downstream near 54th Street bridge just north of the guardrails. Paddle should begin at approx 10:00 a.m. Wearing a life jacket is REQUIRED to be part of this group paddle.
TRC has a limited supply of loaner kayaks, paddles, and life jackets available to borrow free of charge. You must RSVP to kevinhaight58@gmail.com to reserve a kayak. No RSVP is necessary if you are bringing your own boat. After the paddle we will try to meet up at a local business for lunch/refreshments. Hope to see you on the river!
