Veterans Memorial Park, on Muskegon River at Muskegon Lake is a historically significant World War I memorial park and a tribute to all veterans. Significant effort is underway to restore historic features and passive public outdoor recreation amenities.

Veterans Memorial Park, a historically significant memorial park on the "West Michigan Pike," includes 50-acres of well-maintained park land on the Muskegon River, within view of Muskegon Lake.  A memorial walkway allows visitors to observe memorials and plaques in honor of the West Michigan area's veterans.  Putters Creek is located on the Causeway's east side, offereing kayak rentals, go-karts, mini-golf and ice cream.  The Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve is located on the Muskegon River's north side just to the east.  The Preserve also offers hiking trails and a riverwalk/boardwalk along the Muskegon River.
