There are 35 campsites, cold running water and some flush toilets as well as vault toilets. Many sites are excellent tent sites, located between dunes 20 to 30 feet high. Other sites are suitable for trailers and other recreational vehicles. Two spaces are specially located for the handicapped. The Lake Michigan Campground is located approximately 18 miles west of St. Ignace, between US-2 and the Lake Michigan shoreline. Dunes, waves, sand and wind, are the primary environmental factors present here. The view of the lake is spectacular. Excellent trails in the area. The Sand Dunes Cross-Country Ski Trail is an excellent system of trail loops for hiking in the summer.
