There is a short walk between the parking lot and the beach where the view opens up to a large half-moon shaped cove, with sand beaches on the left and right and small “hard heads” on the rest of the one mile arc. The beach is sandy and forested.  Primitive camping permits are available on-line or at the visitors’ center and local sports shop. Open, deep water
