The 5 mile stretch through the village starting at the JP Palmer Launch is a Heritage Water trail celebrating Union City's rich river history. It contains 28 markers viewable only by paddling the river with vintage photos and text as well as a mural under the Park Street Bridge for a complete self guided tour.  Two years in the planning, the Trail was launched on 7/03/2016 with a ribbon cutting ceremony as part of Union City's Sesquicentennial Celebration.  Five miles down river and across Union Lake at Riley Dam.
