This is the take-out for trips starting 2.5 miles upstream at Bundy Road or 7 miles upstream at the Coloma Public Works access. This segment from Bundy Road down to Riverside Kayak Park is a lovely shorter paddle through extensive floodplain forest and past high bluffs. It is considered Beginner to Intermediate in skill level depending on water level (more difficult at low water levels when more logs are exposed). Like all the Beginner segments on the water trail, basic maneuvering skills are required to be able to follow the paddle pathway where it has been cut through downed trees.

This is also the put-in for trips 9 miles downstream to Stevens Ave-Benton Harbor and 11 miles to Graham Ave-Benton Harbor. The river downstream to Benton Harbor was most recently worked on in early June 2021. ATTENTION! Heading downstream to Benton Harbor, you may encounter downed trees requiring portages and there may be exposed logs to haul over at low Summer water levels. Remember, there is absolutely nowhere to take out until Stevens Ave in Benton Harbor. This is potentially an all day trip requiring advanced paddling ability and stamina. Do not start this trip late in the day without being prepared to spend a cold, wet, and mosquito filled night outside.

To find the Riverside Kayak Park you can drive west from the City of Coloma on Coloma Road to the bridge over the river. Alternatively, you can take I-196 and exit at Riverside which is exit #4. After exiting the highway, go east on Coloma Road to the Park. The Riverside Kayak Park is located on the south side of the road.

If you are floating downstream from Bundy Road access, you will go under two bridges. The first is Bundy Road bridge only a hundred yards or so from your put-in. The second bridge you come to is Coloma Road bridge. Go under that bridge and the take-out is a few hundred yards after the bridge on River Right. There is a dock with a universal access for kayaks.

This park has parking, vault toilets, a picnic area, trash and recycling receptacles. There is no entrance fee.
