This is a loop from the Grosse Ile Sunrise park, around Stony Island, down the Livingstone channel and returning to the Sunrise Park via the hole-in-the wall. This passes near Bob-lo island (which is in Canadian waters). This entire loop is in US waters.
One must be cautious of boat traffic in the Livingstone channel including freighter traffic. The loop is best on cooler spring or fall days where there are fewer recreational boats on the water.
On can also cut through Stony Island which offers a ever changing display of flora and fauna. There is a heron rookery on the southern side of the island.
