There are about 30 access sites to Lake Michigan in this stretch; however some of them are not yet ideal for kayak launching. Be sure to click on the sites and read the site descriptions to find places that suit your abilities. There are 2 security zones for nuclear power plants in this stretch (near Bridgman and south of South Haven) where you must paddle out about 1000 yards from the shoreline (marked by lighted buoys). These areas are shown on the map as red boxes extending from the shoreline.
