Grand Trunk features a small boat launch, parking, access to the Lakeshore Trail bike path, a wetland boardwalk, picnic shelter and interpretive signage. The Lake Express Muskegon to Milwaukee high speed ferry terminal is located nearby.

Harbour Towne Beach looks out to Muskegon Lake with a clear view of the channel out to Lake Michigan. It’s a public beach that is a favorite among locals and perfect for getting the bead on Walleye and Salmon fishing activity.

Hartshorn Marina is located in the downtown Muskegon area, with access to Muskegon Lake, Muskegon River and Lake Michigan. The Lakeshore Trail bike path is accessible from the launch parking lot area.

This quiet, scenic park is nestled in wooded dunes. It is a popular picnic and swimming area.

Pere Marquette is a popular Lake Michigan public beach, located on the south side of the Muskegon Navigational Channel near a historic lighthouse, coast guard station, NOAA Field Station, maritime walkway and the U.S.S. Silversides Submarine Museum.

Mona Lake Park features a boat launch, a covered picnic shelter, parking, lighted fishing pier, beach and sporting facilities. Mona Lake is connected to Lake Michigan by a recreational channel. The park is located nearby the I-96 and US-31 Interchange.

The Channel connects Muskegon Lake to Lake Michigan and to the Great Lakes. Large freighters, tugs, sailboats, fishing boats and the Lake Express high-speed, cross lake ferry to Milwaukee all use this scenic, commercial and recreational channel.

The Muskegon Maritime Heritage Walkway is a three-quarter mile walkway along the Muskegon Channel with signage that interprets the areas maritime history.
